Kenneski [DEVLOG 1/29/2024]

Hey guys!

I wanted to write a little devlog, just so you guys are aware of the current state of Kenneski. 😊

The first chapter is almost fully written! It'll be around 30k words in total, maybe more... And I've been keeping up on the coding and whatnot. So once I've finished writing it, I should be able to just upload the demo right away! I'm hoping for this to be done around the middle of February. Things are taking so long on Kenneski because there is A LOT more coding and branching paths, unlike SoS. I'm also trying my best to create branching paths where you learn different information based on what choices you choose... Which makes the coding process a whole lot slower as I try and navigate my way around that. 😅

But I'm getting there! Thank you all for your patience as I work my way through this story!

[ALSO! If you aren't already aware, I post a lot about this IF on tumblr! Go check it out here, and look through the asks that I've answered to get more information on the characters and whatnot!]

And just because I'm super excited to give you guys SOMETHING, I put a little preview of the chapter at the end of this devlog...

Anyway! I'll hopefully see you guys in February sometime!

“$Name!” It takes me a second to place the voice, an even longer second to realize that I’m staring at Roman.

A surge of relief flows through me, before I realize that there are more guards standing behind him, along with the unsettling lady from before. They all look at me with different emotions, but the most prevalent thought that rushes through my head is that I was just caught coming back from somewhere I wasn’t supposed to be-

Alinar comes up behind me then, his armor clicking and scraping against the stone, the sound echoing down the long corridor ominously. “And what do we have here?”

Roman looks at me, then the captain, with a slightly panicked look. If he lies about anything here, to try and help me get out of trouble, the other guards with him will more than likely call him out. He opens his mouth, as if to say something, but Captain Alinar beats him to it.

“Looks like we have a lost little mole, unable to find its way back to its hole.” Alinar comes up close to me, in my space. “Do you want to know what we do to moles that end up where they don’t belong around here?”

I don’t answer him, my mouth setting into a firm line as my heart beats wildly in my chest.

“We give ‘em a good ol’ WHAP-” He barks out the word, startling me as his breath hits my face with the ferocity behind it, as he knocks his armored knuckles against my skull softly, “-right to the little noggin’ with a shovel.”
